What Are Animatronics?

Animatronic toys (or just Animatronics) are basically sets of robotic gears and mini-computers inside a type of puppet. Often times they are animals or people but, they can also be fictional characters and monsters.

Animatronic toys were invented by the imagineers under Walt Disney in the early 60's and named Audio-Animatronics. Eventually similar technology made its way onto movie sets, but Disney had kept his innovations very secret. Today's technology is getting more and more popular in childrens toys. Animatronics can now come to childrens toys because all of the high tech gear to control them is getting cheaper and cheaper.

WowWee Animatronics

WowWee is one of the largest animatronic toy makers. They offer a huge variety of interactive toys.They made popular Robosapiens. The Robosapien is a robot and not animatronic, but he acts like a human. It has a lot of pre-programmed functions like dancing and picking things up etc.
